Chip Orton, MBA, CEM, TEM, CPM

Hi, my name is Chip! I am originally from the Dallas-Fort Worth area and moved to Amarillo in 2014. Although I have had a 20+ year career in the field of emergency management, which included seven years as the Director of Emergency Management for the Amarillo area, I have a heart for those that have been affected by trauma, PTSD, anxiety, divorce, crises / disasters, and also the areas of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and ADHD.

I also served in the U.S. Coast Guard for four years and spent four years as a Public Safety Dispatcher / 911 Operator for two different agencies.

My personal experiences with some of the things mentioned above, and my work with those affected by disaster (including my significant role in the area’s response related to COVID-19 pandemic) that led me to pursue counseling.

Counseling is personal for me and has helped me. I want to help you too.

I am married to Michelle, have a 10-year old son, two step-sons, and two charcoal Labrador retrievers that serve as service animals - Zeus and Zuma.
